Why we do what we do

Life is good. I have worn many hats in my life, not because I'm flighty or unlucky but because I have many interests. One of my constants has been taking care of my family and making sure they are healthy. For the past several years we have lived on 20 acres in rural Virginia. We grow a lot of our own food and we've found we enjoy the life as well as the lifestyle. Things do move slower down here. People really are friendlier. Neighbors look out for each other and yes, everybody knows everyone's business, but as we've discovered, that's not always a bad thing.
I make soap, I have for years, even before we moved out here. I love to make soap. I love growing the herbs. Last year with the drought conditions our vegetable garden didn't produce ten tomatoes but the herb garden went crazy. So for the first time I'm going to be able to use our own herbs in our own products that we want to share with you.
Did you know each herb has a purpose, not just a flavor? For example sage is great with poultry but it is a wonderful astringent for your skin. Rosemary is the perfect herb to use with roasted vegetables and meats but it also symbolizes remembrance and it a wonderful, stabilizing herb. When blended with another herb like lavender you can create a bar of soap that not just cleanses your body but relaxes your mind.
See, the thing is I know this. I've studied it. A lot of love and care goes into each bar of soap, bath tea or infused oil we make for you. I know it's just soap, but it's good soap, with no chemical additives. We make it because we like making it. We're proud of it and we want to share it with you. Enjoy.
